Christmas at 12000 feet

December 27, 2009

Did not want to sit on my duff, so I choose to climb one of the highest volcanos in Guatemala, Acatenango. Could have choosen a better week, I guess. Nice and clear day but turned out to have a 75mph wind on top. When the sun went down, it was clear and cold. My fingers froze. I am still recovering. No sleep in the tent, shared with three others..”.just tossin’ and turnin’ all night!” Everyone else on the climb was half my age. Well, I made it. I am back and wish you all a happy holiday. Here are some great shots of the sunrise looking over two other volcanos I climbed earlier, Agua and Pecaya.

Full of energy and enthusiasm
